The Life That I Have

I had never heard of this poem by Leo Marks until it was reportedly read at Chelsey Clinton's wedding. The poem is simple and very, very powerful.  The first lines are:

"The life that I have
is all that I have
And the life that I have
is yours."

I still am overwhelmed with an indescribable feeling when I read the poem.   When I read and think about this poem, I'm thinking of it in terms of speaking to Jesus.

It is so easy for us as people to dedicate our lives to those we love, and most of the time that declaration is for a spouse.  But how often do we tell that same thing to Jesus? Are we just as willing to truly dedicate our lives to Jesus?

Jesus willingly gave his life for me.  So that I wouldn't have to face death for my sins, for me he chose to die.  The very least I can do is say to him the life that I have is yours.
